A beautifully textural mid-century Australian wall hanging by Nenova, featuring a stylised crane standing among sculptural reeds. Hand-crafted using woven natural fibres and raised tufted elements, the piece has wonderful depth and softness — the bird appears to lift gently from the surface.
The warm neutral ground is layered with silk ribbon-applied reeds and wool tufting in ivory, blush and black, creating movement and subtle shadow. Designed and made in Australia in the 1960s–70s, this work captures the era’s love of natural materials, organic forms and tactile wall decor.
Still retaining its original Nenova Australia label to the reverse, it is an authentic example of locally produced mid-century fibre and silk art — perfect above a console, sofa or bed, and ideal for interiors that blend mid-century modern, coastal and bohemian styling.
