A fabulous and highly unusual mid-century coffee table featuring richly glazed turquoise tiles set within a solid timber frame. Bold in colour yet beautifully balanced in proportion, this piece brings personality and warmth into a space while remaining effortlessly livable.

The tiled surface is composed of sparking turquoise tones that shift beautifully with light, creating depth and movement across the top. Framed by warm solid timber legs and rails, the table combines craftsmanship with colour in a way that feels both expressive and timeless.

We believe this table may is by Parker Furniture, based on similarities in construction and grout technique seen on other Parker tiled tables we have had previously. However, this example is particularly rare, and we have not been able to locate another identical or closely comparable piece.

What sets this table apart is its tile and grout work. Many vintage tiled coffee tables use smoother ceramic tiles paired with lighter or terracotta-toned grout. In contrast, this piece features deeply coloured glass-like tiles combined with a darker, textured grout that gives the surface a richer, more organic character. The result feels less mass-produced and more artisanal, lending the table a distinctive presence and making it stand out from more commonly seen examples.

It’s a wonderful reminder that mid-century interiors weren’t afraid of colour — and that thoughtfully introduced colour can transform a room.
