The top is supported by a finely made timber frame with slender, subtly splayed legs and book matched veneer — a design detail that reflects Kafka’s unique blend of European elegance and modernist restraint.
Kafka’s workshop was renowned for producing bespoke furniture for discerning clients, often in collaboration with architects of the period. His work is now recognised as among the most sophisticated examples of Australian modernist design, with examples held in the Powerhouse Museum and sought after by collectors worldwide.
