An exceptional opportunity to acquire two very early black leather lounge chairs by Tessa, widely regarded as icons of Australian mid-century comfort and design.
This pair represents an important point in Tessa’s design evolution: one chair is the T21 model, while the other is the rarer T2, the design widely considered to be the foundation upon which the later T21 was developed. Designed under the direction of Fred Lowen, these pieces are celebrated for their sculptural timber frames and exceptional ergonomic comfort.
Both chairs present beautifully and have been carefully maintained, retaining their strong mid-century character while remaining entirely practical for everyday use. Included is the matching footstool, completing the classic Tessa lounging experience.
There are minor marks to the rear of both chairs however, these have been professionally addressed and are now subtle and not visually distracting or structurally problematic. Overall, the set remains in excellent vintage condition.
