Kai Kristiansen Model 42 Dining Chairs – Sold Individually (8 Available)

Designed by one of Denmark’s most celebrated furniture designers, these original Kai Kristiansen Model 42 dining chairs are among the most recognisable icons of Scandinavian modern design. First introduced in the 1950s, the Model 42 is admired for its sculptural “Z” profile, exceptional comfort and ingenious floating backrest, making it as practical as it is beautiful.  

Each chair features a solid teak frame with the distinctive sweeping rear uprights and sculpted back supports that have made this model a favourite of collectors worldwide. The chairs retain their original dark green leather upholstery, which has developed a rich patina over decades of use and perfectly complements the warmth of the teak.

The frames have been cleaned and polished while preserving their original character. The leather remains supple and presents beautifully, showing only the gentle signs of age expected from authentic vintage examples. Please note that the chairs retain their original leather and as such they have some faults. One has some fading to the leather and a couple of minor scratches although there are no rips or tears.  Reach out for detailed images to be sent to you or a video if you wish.  

The backs have a slight swivel, which is a feature of this design.

These are being offered individually, allowing you to purchase the number you require. However, preference will be given to a buyer wishing to purchase the complete set of eight, as finding a matching original set of this size has become increasingly uncommon.
