An icon of Danish modern design, this rare six-seat “Heart” dining set by Hans J. Wegner for Fritz Hansen unites sculptural form with everyday practicality.

The round table is complemented by six matching “Heart” chairs FH4103, each with a distinctive heart-shaped seat and curved backrest. The three-legged design allows the chairs to nest perfectly around the table, saving space while creating a harmonious, sculptural silhouette.

Crafted in richly grained oak and finished in a warm, deep stain, this set showcases Wegner’s mastery of proportion, comfort, and detail. The table is teak. The result is a dining suite that feels as fresh and relevant today as when it was first designed in 1952.

Hans J. Wegner — often called the “Master of the Chair” — is one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. His work, celebrated for its timeless beauty and functional innovation, is held in collections worldwide and remains highly sought after by collectors.

Dimensions:

  • Table: 1.2 diameter x 71 high

  • Chairs: backrest width 50cm x 43cm deep x 41cm seat height

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with light, sympathetic "finger" wear, resulting in a lightening of the stain at the backs of the chairs consistent with age. The whole suite has been freshly cleaned and oiled and presents beautifully. 9/10

A perfect centrepiece for any modernist interior — compact, elegant, and unmistakably Danish.
