This incredibly soft vintage Ensari rug captures the beauty and strength of Afghan tribal weaving. Handwoven in the 1940s, it features the classic repeated gul medallion motifs set within a rich palette of deep terracotta, midnight indigo, and soft golden accents. The intricate borders frame the design with balance and rhythm, a hallmark of Ensari craftsmanship.
Made from handspun wool dyed with natural vegetable pigments, this rug has softened over time into a warm, versatile piece that anchors both modern and traditional interiors. Measuring approximately 3.0 x 2.0 metres, it is a substantial size—perfect beneath a dining table, in a lounge, or as a gallery-style statement on the wall.
While in excellent overall condition for its age, there is a small hole that reflects its decades of use and authenticity. It does not detract from the visual impact, instead adding to the story and integrity of this heirloom textile.
