This particular Tessa armchair and footstool were produced for a single year only in 1981 and therefore, is considered possibly the rarest of Tessa's produced. This is likely due to the fact that the ongoing production costs are great as the frames are made from solid Blackwood as opposed to bent ply and the chosen leather is the best quality available. To add to the cost of production even the back of the chairs were lined in leather also rather than just canvas as per the T8. This particular example is a deep charcoal but not black colour and has an equally rare footstool made from matching leather and solid and beautifully curved profile.
